Beliefs

Statement of Faith

I do not expect everyone visiting this site to agree with every point listed below. However, I want my intentions and motives to be clear to anyone who visits this site for any reason. I believe that ישוע משיח (Yeshua Messiah) came only to magnify and "fill in" the Torah, and not to do away with it. The content on this site teaches and explains this belief in various Scriptural aspects. Many of the articles on this site were assembled to combat mainstream Christian (or Judaic) teaching that I believe goes against the teaching of Scripture.

When it all boils down, though, this is not about me teaching and spreading what I believe. Rather, it is about me teaching what I have come to understand what Scripture is saying. That is, Scripture is what is the ultimate, definite Truth. Period. The points listed below are backed up with accompanying Scripture verses to show you WHY I believe the way I do. Again, I do not expect everyone to agree, but I do hope that any true Believer will search these things out fully.

  1. YHWH is the Only True Elohim (Deut. 6:4; Isa. 45:6). The Elohim of Avraham, Yitschaq and Ya’aqov (Exo. 3:6; Acts 7:32). He alone has all knowledge and all power (2 Chron. 20:6; Jude 25; 1 Tim. 6:16), and He never changes (Mal. 3:6).

  2. Yeshua is the Messiah (Jn. 20:31; Mat. 1:1), the Chosen Branch of Yisrael (Isa. 11:1; Jer. 23:5). He is the Son of YHWH Elohim (Jn. 20:31; Jn. 3:16; 1 Jn. 4:9). He came once as the Suffering Servant (Isa. 53), to die for the sins of the world (Jn. 1:29). He will return as Messiah ben David (Mat. 22:42; Mat. 1:1), King of Yisrael. He is the Son, Servant, and Sent-One (Emissary or "Shaliach" in Hebrew) of the Father (Jn. 6:38). He is not, however, part of a "trinity," though He is the Right Hand (Psa. 118) and Messenger of YHWH. He is still called "Elohim" (Heb. 1:8) though He fully submits Himself to the Father (Jn. 5:30).

  3. The Tanakh, more commonly known as the 'Old Testament,' is the divinely inspired word of YHWH (2 Tim. 3:16; Psalm 119:160). It contains the Torah, the prophets and the writings. Yeshua spoke of these many times (Mat. 5:17; Lk. 16:16-17), and Sha’ul (Paul) affirmed them as well (Acts 24:14).

  4. The Shelichim Writings, or 'New Testament,' contain eyewitness accounts of Yeshua’s earthly ministry (gospels), the acts of the talmidim (Book of Acts), as well as many letters written to individuals and congregations (writings of Paul, Peter, John, Jude and James). It also contains the final book of prophecy, Revelation (Rev. 22:10).

  5. The Sabbath is a perpetual (unending) covenant between YHWH and His people (Ex. 31:16; Eze. 20:12). It falls on the 7th day of the week (Gen. 2:2-3; Ex. 35:2), beginning at sunset on the 6th day (commonly called Friday) and ending on sunset of the 7th day (Gen. 1:5).

  6. The Torah (Law) provides instructions that lead Believers to blessing and life (Deut. 28:1; Psa. 19:7; Rom. 7:12). The Torah was given TO all Yisrael (not just the Jews) and FOR all Yisrael. Yeshua is The Word, including the Torah, and the Torah is Eternal (Jn. 1:1, Hebrews 13:8; Psalm 119:89). These instructions are the expression of YHWH’s Heart and His desire for all mankind (Psa. 40:8; Ecc. 12:13). These instructions are not too difficult or burdensome (Deut. 30:11; 1 Jn. 5:3). In keeping His commands, we demonstrate to Yeshua that we love Him (Jn. 14:15, 21).

  7. Sin entered the world through Adam, the first man (Gen. 3:6; Rom. 5:12). Sin is the breaking of the commandments (Torah) of YHWH (1 Jn. 3:4). Sin brings about death (Rom. 6:23; Eze. 18:20) and all mankind has sinned (Rom. 3:23; 1 Ki. 8:46; 2 Chr. 6:36), therefore owing the penalty of death. Yeshua, however, became the perfect, sinless Passover Lamb (1 Jn. 3:5; 1 Cor. 5:7), taking away that sin and paying the debt that was owed: death (Col. 2:13,14)

  8. Salvation is the free gift of Elohim to all who have faith in Him and His Son, Yeshua (Rom. 6:23; Eph. 2:8). Through the sacrifice of Yeshua, we can be saved from the harm of the Second Death (Rev. 2:11). Salvation is not attained simply with good works (Eph. 2:9; Rom. 3:28), though without righteous works faith is dead (Jas. 2:17, 26). Therefore, salvation through faith must be walked out and lived out through obedience, righteous living and work, with fear and trembling (Mat. 5:16, Phil. 2:12).

  9. The Ruach HaQodesh (commonly called the “Holy Spirit”) is the Set-apart Spirit of YHWH (1 Cor. 12:3, 1 Cor. 3:16, Gen. 1:2). It is the Breath of Elohim, as we see from the very definition of the word (Job 7:7). The Ruach is what allows man to hear from YHWH (1 Cor. 2:10-12) and it is by the Ruach that man is empowered and is able to properly walk out the Torah (Eze. 36:27; Acts 1:8; Gal. 5:16). When the Ruach is at work in a Believer’s life, it should produce the “fruits” of the Ruach (Gal. 5:22,23; Eph. 5:9,10).

  10. Yeshua will return and reign as King on the Earth for 1,000 years (Rev. 20:6). Those that are alive at His coming, as well as those that are currently asleep in Him, will be raised and/or changed into incorruptible, immortal beings, and will forever be with Him (1 Thess. 4:16,17, 1 Cor. 15:50-55).

  11. The People of YHWH are His Ekklesia, commonly called the “church.” Ekklesia means “called-out ones” and is more correctly translated as “congregation” or “assembly.” The Ekklesia is the body of all those that believe in and obey YHWH (Eph. 1:22, 23, Col. 1:18, 1 Cor. 12:12). In the stories of the Tanakh, this is the assembly of Yisrael (Num. 26:2). There is no such concept as the “church” replacing Yisrael. All Believers (all those of the assembly) have BECOME Yisraelites (Eph. 2:11-13, Gal. 3:29), being grafted into the Olive Tree of Yisrael (Rom. 11:17-21). Therefore, all Believers are counted as children of Abraham and are heirs to the promise (Gal. 3:29). The assembly of all Believers is the True Yisrael.
