Have you studied the tree of life in the garden and the tree of life in Proverbs 3 being getting wisdom and understanding of Torah?

Hmmm.... I find this interesting: Having read this essay, I am now reading the first aliyah for Parashah "Vayera" and see this symbolism: "Let a little water be brought, and wash your feet, and REST YOURSELVES UNDER THE TREE" (B'resheit 18:4). (Sorry to use the CAPS, but I didn't have a bold option). Anyway, to borrow a phrase from the church, but we could say "rest at the foot of the cross". Another foreshadowing?

I'm not a fan of the "cross" (personally), but I do get what you mean by resting at the foot of the tree (stake). And yes, I believe it is quite possibly an allusion to Yeshua. Remember, not a single verse in the Torah is there by accident.
